KPA Named a 2026 Remote Work Top Workplace, Plus 8 Culture Excellence Awards

We’re proud to announce that KPA has been named a 2026 Remote Work Top Workplace by TopWorkplaces.com, in partnership with Energage. This feels like an award we really earned; there was no application to fill out and no way to buy our way onto the list. The entire result comes from the Energage Workplace Survey, completed by our own employees. Energage compares that data against companies of similar size across the country, and this year only 156 organizations in our size range made the cut nationally.

“A great workplace isn't defined by what leadership thinks; it's defined by how employees experience it,” says Lisa Laughrey, KPA’s Senior HR Generalist. “Participating in the Top Workplaces survey gives our employees an opportunity to share honest feedback and helps us better understand how we can support their success, engagement, and growth.”

In other words, this isn't us describing our own culture, it's our people describing it, anonymously, to a third party with no reason to flatter us.

Eight more wins, all built on the same feedback

The Remote Work award was our national win this year, but the same survey also earned KPA these eight Culture Excellence awards:

  • Top Workplaces for Appreciation
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Employee Well-Being
  • Innovation
  • Leadership
  • Professional Development
  • Purpose & Values
  • Work-Life Flexibility

Each of those categories comes from a different slice of the same survey data, which is what makes the spread of wins mean something. It's not one strong number carrying the whole result. It's employees telling us, across eight separate categories, that the day-to-day experience of working here is actually good.

What the survey measures

The survey doesn't ask employees to rate only the perks of working here, it asks hard questions: do you feel respected and supported, do you feel like you're enabled to grow, do you feel empowered to actually do your job?

Those are the things that decide whether someone stays at a company, or starts quietly job hunting, and they're hard to fake.

We've built our remote and hybrid model around the idea that where someone sits shouldn't determine how supported they feel. That's been a deliberate bet, and this result is the clearest evidence we've had that it's working.

When this survey was complete, we were thrilled to see commentary from our KPA colleagues about what makes working here so meaningful to them. We saw notes like these throughout the results:

  • “What I value most about my job is the open and supportive culture. Employees are encouraged to share innovative ideas and feedback without fear of being dismissed or excluded.”
  • “I feel I am doing meaningful work for a company that appreciates me.”
  • “I get to constantly learn new things every day and I know I have a team I can rely on for assistance.”

Each of those categories comes from a different slice of the same survey data, which is what makes the spread of wins mean something. It's not one strong number carrying the whole result. It's employees telling us, across eight separate categories, that the day-to-day experience of working here is actually good.

According to Laughrey, “We believe a great workplace is built on listening. Participating in the Top Workplaces survey allows our employees to share honest feedback about their experiences, giving us valuable insights that help shape a culture where people feel supported, engaged, and empowered to thrive.”

The people behind this win

Awards like this can make it sound like leadership did something clever. We didn't – it's our employees who did the work of showing up, doing good work, and then telling us honestly and candidly what it's like to be here. That kind of honesty is a gift, and it's the only reason this recognition means anything at all.

So to everyone at KPA: thank you! This one is yours, and we don't take it lightly.
