Included in KPA's Privacy and Safegaurds Pro Solution

Your website runs chat, ad pixels, vehicle videos, and more, and each one collects something about the user on the other side of the screen. KPA puts a cookie consent banner on your dealership website so visitors decide what's tracked. A privacy request portal sits behind it for the customer who asks what you've kept.

Regulatory Spotlight

State Privacy Laws: Cookie Consent and Privacy Requests

Almost every dealership website is collecting data before the shopper types a word. The chat widget on the inventory page, the ad pixel, the walkaround video and the lead form often set cookies or trackers as soon as the page loads. The FTC Safeguards Rule covers the customer information in a deal jacket. State privacy laws reach the data your website gathers before anyone walks through the door. As of 2026, twenty states have comprehensive consumer privacy laws. Several, including California, set rules for how your banner asks for consent and how quickly you answer a customer who asks what you've kept.

Privacy Requests (DSARs)

Customers can ask to see, correct or delete their data. In California, acknowledge within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days.

Cookie Consent Banners

  • Tell visitors what your site collects, and give them a real way to say no.

  • Disclose: name your cookies and trackers plainly, and keep your privacy policy matched to the site.

  • Opt out: let visitors opt out of data sharing and targeted ads, and honor Global Privacy Control browser signals where required.

  • Equal choice: declining can't take more steps than accepting. In 2025, California fined an automaker $632,500, partly over this.
